Eudunda Pioneer Market Day
Friday 20th May 2011
10am – 2.30pm
Come and join the celebrations for S.A. History Week and S.A.’s 175th and Eudunda's 140th
on Friday 20th May 2011 at Eudunda. Set along the vine clad, historic Bruce Street, Eudunda will be a Pioneer Market Day.
Get dressed up in your pioneer clothes (prizes for best outfit) and be part of our community as we enjoy old fashioned games, Town Crier, heritage
displays, maypole dancing, produce and craft stalls.
Look at the quilting exhibition in our refurbished local Eudunda Hall. There will be vintage cars in Eudunda Club car park. Shop windows
will be decorated and the town will be buzzing.
Come along for a good old fashioned day of fun and fellowship.
We would really like the schools to embrace this event and join in.
Visits to the Heritage Gallery are always welcome.
Please feel free to enter our poster competition which will be delivered to participating schools soon. Younger children to colour the
posters in and older children to design their own posters for this event. Please forward to us to arrive no later than
5pm on 1st April. You can post them to the Eudunda Family Heritage Gallery, 17-19 Bruce
Street, Eudunda 5374 or drop them into the Gallery. Winning posters shall be used to advertise and promote the events.
The remaining posters will be displayed to help decorate our street windows. On the Pioneer Day we would like students to be
involved.
There will be ‘game stations’ with games suitable for all ages e.g. pin the tail, quoits, skittles, hopscotch, dance the maypole etc. There will
also be displays everyone that you will find interesting. A wheat bag throwing competition (weight will be age suitable),
and much, much more. We would like everyone to join the shop keepers and dress in pioneer costume. There will be prizes awarded for best costumes.
